- Retained No. 1 spot in the Korea Productivity Center’s 2025 NCSI gas station category
- Recognized for enhancing customer experience through the Energy Plus app
- Introduced new features, including CarPlay and Android Auto, for greater convenience

GS Caltex (CEO Saehong Hur) announced on July 7 that it has been ranked No. 1 in the gas station sector of the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) survey, conducted by the Korea Productivity Center. This marks the company’s 17th consecutive year leading the category.
NCSI, a key indicator of customer satisfaction, was jointly developed by the Korea Productivity Center and the University of Michigan to improve corporate competitiveness, industry quality, and the overall quality of life.
In the 2025 index, GS Caltex was recognized for leveraging its Energy Plus app to receive user input in real time and act swiftly on that feedback. Through such efforts, the company delivered tangible benefits and a new refueling experience that customers can appreciate firsthand.
GS Caltex launched the Energy Plus app in 2021 to make fueling more convenient for drivers and has since introduced a range of innovative experiences and benefits. One standout feature is Quick Refuel, which allows users to pre-register their preferred fuel type, amount, and payment method — then simply scan a barcode or enter a PIN at the pump to complete the transaction in one step.
This year, GS Caltex’s Development & Operations (DevOps) team responded in real time to customer requests and queries and added three new features to the app:
1) CarPlay and Android Auto Integration: The first of its kind in Korea’s oil industry, the feature lets drivers access the station locator, Quick Refuel, and coupon and point balances directly on the car’s touchscreen.
2) Shake & Pay: A new shortcut lets users start Quick Refuel instantly with a quick shake of their phones.
3) Updated home screen widget: The redesign lets users launch Quick Refuel, view favorite stations, and compare fuel prices without opening the app.

GS Caltex also continues to expand its mobile-payment ecosystem. In 2020, it added KakaoPay, NaverPay, Payco, and ZeroPay, followed by Apple Pay in 2023. Later this year, the company will roll out an all-in-one self-service pump terminal to streamline mobile payments and simplify transactions at self-service stations.
“Going forward, we will keep developing and refining services that provide innovative experiences to customers at GS Caltex stations, in step with evolving energy consumption patterns and lifestyles,” said Chang Soo Kim, Executive Vice President Mobility & Marketing Division.
