- Introduces Kixx GX7, a gasoline engine oil certified under the most recent American Petroleum Institute (API) SQ standard
- Marks the 20th anniversary of the Kixx brand with a full renewal, from product names to packaging

On August 5, GS Caltex (CEO Saehong Hur) announced the release of Kixx GX7, a new engine oil certified under the latest American Petroleum Institute (API) SQ specification, offering stability and efficiency for gasoline-powered passenger vehicles.
The API SQ grade is the American Petroleum Institute’s first new gasoline engine oil specification since the SP grade of 2020. Formulated accordingly, Kixx GX7is a 100% synthetic premium gasoline engine oil that: ▲ protects the engine by enhancing timing chain performance and preventing low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI); ▲ improves fuel efficiency by enabling cold starts and reducing power loss in high-temperature conditions; and ▲ maintains viscosity while reducing oil consumption to extend the interval between oil changes.
This new product joins GS Caltex’s diverse lineup of engine oils, which includes the high-performance Kixx PAO range formulated with premium synthetic PAO base oil, the Kixx GX line for passenger vehicles, and the Kixx DX line for commercial vehicles.
Alongside the launch of Kixx GX7, the company has also carried out a renewal of the Kixx lubricants brand, from product lineup to packaging, on its 20th anniversary year.
Launched in 2005, the year the company was renamed GS Caltex, the Kixx brand is used across a wide range of industries, including passenger, commercial, electric, and hybrid vehicles, as well as turbines and ships. More recently, it is also being used in immersion cooling fluids for data center servers.
As part of the renewal, the twenty-year-old Kixx logo was updated to a modern, curved design inspired by the fluidity of lubricants. The slogan was also changed to ‘Lubricating the Future,’ expressing a commitment to powering a better future by helping not just machines, but the world, run smoothly. The packaging, including product containers, was refreshed to showcase the brand and convey its dynamism and technological capabilities.
A representative of GS Caltex stated, “As all moving machines require lubrication, GS Caltex will continue expanding Kixx to support a sustainable future across diverse industrial fields,” adding, “In particular, we will further strengthen its presence as a globally recognized lubricant brand beyond the domestic market.”
