GS Caltex (Board Chair & CEO, GS Caltex / Vice Chairman, GS Group, Saehong Hur) announced that it hosted Family Day for employees and their families on July 31 at GS Tower in Gangnam, Seoul.
Family Day, held under the theme “Energy to the Future,” gave employees’ families an opportunity to visit the workplace and experience GS Caltex’s energy business firsthand. More than a company tour, the event helped families become more familiar with the company while fostering pride and a sense of belonging.
Selected through a pre-registration process, participants got a look at where their family members work before receiving honorary employee ID cards and taking part in the day’s programs.
At the main event venue, a variety of interactive booths gave participants a clear, engaging introduction to GS Caltex’s energy business and digital technologies.
At the “Energy Value Chain Adventure” booth, they learned how the company’s value chain works—from crude oil procurement to product manufacturing and sales—through game-based content developed by GS Caltex’s DAX (Digital & AI Transformation) Center.
Participants also explored GS Caltex’s Yeosu Complex via MR (Mixed Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) and experienced the same safety training content used on site to see how digital technologies support workplace safety.
The event also featured a variety of activities based on digital technology, including AI Baduk & Omok, mini robot soccer, and motion-recognition sports, as well as activities for the whole family, such as eco-bag and keyring making and photo sessions.
During the event, CEO Saehong Hur welcomed everyone and thanked them for their support. He said, “I hope this Family Day has helped our employees’ families better understand what their parents do at GS Caltex and take pride in their work,” adding, “Today’s experience will, I hope, remain a fond memory and inspire them to dream big as they grow.”
GS Caltex also offers a range of family-friendly programs to support employees’ work-life balance. In recognition of these efforts, the company received the Korean government’s Family-Friendly Certification in 2023.
